The Marvel Cinematic Universe Watched and Reviewed so You Don’t Have Too Pt. 1

Over quarantine I recently watched all 23 marvel movies with my little brother and to say the least, it was a very long experience. I came into these movies not knowing what expect, only that my little brother just wanted somebody to watch them with him. My only previous knowledge of them was that endgame was a big deal to my friends and it seemed like the whole world last year so I was excited to watch it when we got there. I had previously seen the first Avengers movie and I remember liking it when I was 9 but other than that I had no clue what these movies were all about. Little did I know that my quarantine was going to get a lot more interesting.

We started off watching Iron Man 1 and to my surprise I really enjoyed it. My idea of the Marvel movies were that they were all about big explosion and about hero’s fighting bad guys but to my surprise it really wasn’t a cliché superhero movie. The main idea is that Tony Stark(Iron Man) gets his powers taken away and he has to deal without them for the first hour of the movie. This gives us time to respect him as a person and honestly this is why Iron Man is my favorite character throughout he whole series. We see him struggle without the powers that he gains in the later movies and it feels like he really deserves them. Anyways this movie was a really good start to the MCU.

The next movie is the weirdest one in the whole series and it is The Incredible Hulk. This is the only movie made by Universal and it honestly just has no place being part of these movies. The worst part of the movie is whenever Hulk is in the frame and its funny because the whole movie is based around him. There’s not really much to say about this movie because I honestly forgot what it was all about. Hulk’s character is just someone that runs around smashing stuff while being a complete jerk to everyone he encounters. It’s really just a basic superhero movie that holds no meaning to the Marvel Universe whatsoever. All in all this movie is probably my least favorite of the whole series and is the definition of an average superhero movie.

That concludes my review of the first Marvel movies. The main takeaways are that Iron Man is a great start to the series and it shows that Iron Man has earned his role as the main character of the series. With that being said, the Incredible Hulk is probably the worst movie in the series. In later movies he is much better as a character we might as well forget him here. Overall Iron Man is a great character and Hulk really isn’t.
